Peru's Buried Pyramids Are Older Than Egypt's - Infographic
Based Upon The Discoveries of Raul Bilecky
Raul Bilecky is a researcher, explorer and filmmaker who used Google Earth to identify archaeological sites and then verified them in person via grueling expeditions. In May 2024, he embarked on a solo 3-week journey driving over 3,000 kilometers across Peru’s most remote territories, visiting nearly 100 locations in 23 days — and confirmed his satellite findings with 100% accuracy. A second 42-day expedition brought his total archive to over 5 terabytes of unique video footage, making him often the first person to document these sites with modern media.
I discovered Bilecky listening to the Joe Rogan Experience episode #2449, where he struck me as candid, informed and willing to debunk scientific charlatans.
What he found in Peru could rewrite human history.
In Peru’s remote Zaña Valley, Bilecky identified 16 massive pyramids carved directly from solid bedrock — not assembled from stacked blocks — using a construction technique with no known parallel anywhere in the ancient world.
If his proposed dating of approximately 4,000 BCE holds, these structures would predate Egypt’s Great Pyramid by some 1,500 years, and they were achieved without ceramics, metal tools, or any known writing system. At the Viñaque archaeological site, precision-cut megalithic foundations extend 50 feet underground beneath the crude stonework of the later Wari civilization (~800 CE), yet only 4% of the site has even been excavated — meaning whatever lies below remains almost entirely unknown. Adding to the mystery, elongated skulls were unearthed at nearby Paracas that exhibit 25% greater cranial volume and weigh 60% more than a standard human skull.
Perhaps most striking, multiple structures across these sites show consistent orientation toward equinox positions, demonstrating advanced astronomical knowledge that predates any recognized calendar system in the Americas by millennia. Taken together, these findings suggest that a sophisticated, as-yet-unidentified civilization once thrived along Peru’s coast thousands of years earlier than conventional timelines allow — and that the vast majority of its story still lies buried beneath the desert.
Every year, $18 million in looted artifacts disappear into the black market, bulldozers flatten sites for farmland, and the window to understand who these builders were closes further. This isn’t ancient history — it’s an active emergency. Follow Raul Bilecky’s work at @pillarsofthepast on YouTube to see the footage. Share these findings. Ask why these sites aren’t being protected. Demand that history of humanity’s oldest architects isn’t erased before it’s ever told.

In March 2025, a team of Italian researchers quietly detonated one of the biggest archaeological bombshells of the century — not with a shovel, but with a satellite. Using Synthetic Aperture Radar, a technology that can peer through hundreds of meters of solid limestone from space, the Khafre SAR Project announced what decades of speculation had only hi…
