Mary McCord’s resignation was the first major intelligence official to abandon ship as congressional oversight began peeling back the layers of the coup.
“I’m announcing my resignation,” McCord told her DOJ colleagues, understanding that her involvement in surveillance operations was becoming a liability.
“Why now?” a subordinate asked.
“It’s… it’s just time,” McCord replied.
McCord’s departure wasn’t a career change. It was strategic withdrawal.

The second FISA renewal was a rubber-stamp approval of surveillance operations that intelligence agencies knew were based on fables.
Judge Rosemary Collyer reviewed the renewal application, unaware that every piece of supporting evidence had been manufactured by the Clinton campaign and laundered through the FBI.
The Steele dossier remained the primary evidence, despite FBI knowledge that Steele was a Clinton campaign contractor.
