Oh honey, “trust the experts”? Those high priests of “the Science™”? I’d rather take investment advice from a Magic 8-Ball.
For your records, here are twenty of the worst lies since 2020 by the “experts” and then parroted by the likes of The New York Times.
20. Natural immunity is often the strongest: Studies confirmed prior infection often provided superior protection, yet pure-vaccine messaging dominated. The ‘experts’ treated natural immunity like a dirty secret.
19. Excess non-COVID harms from pandemic policies: Later analyses quantified major mental-health, delayed-care, and excess-death impacts beyond the virus itself.
Focusing only on COVID deaths while ignoring the collateral damage? Sounds ‘expert-y’.
18. Fauci/NIH denials of Wuhan funding and Gain-of-Function (GOF) Research were hot garbage: Flat denials later faced conflicting documents. Nothing says “trust the science” like “I plead the Fifth.”
17. Origin investigations faced political interference: Lab-leak discussion was actively discouraged; declassified materials and probes later showed early efforts to favor the natural-origin story no matter what the data showed.
16. Vaccine side-effect signals more significant than portrayed: Pharmacovigilance later confirmed real risks and prompted label updates. Calling safety concerns “anti-vax” while the signals lit up like a Christmas tree sounds like super-science to me!
15. Viral videos of Biden’s cognitive/physical lapses were real, not “cheap fakes”: White House and media dismissed the clips; post-debate coverage and admissions confirmed the decline had been downplayed. “Cheap fakes” was the experts’ version of “don’t worry about that old bozo stumbling down the stairs.”
14. Aerosol/airborne transmission was a primary route: Early guidance emphasized droplets and fomites; evidence of superspreading and ventilation effects forced acknowledgment of inhalation as key. Downplaying aerosols while the virus spreading—like blaming the rain on a bad windshield wiper.
13. Great Barrington Declaration was a viable alternative: Labeled “dangerous” and “fringe”; later assessments of lockdown harms aligned more closely with its focused-protection approach. Calling focused protection “nonsense” while the alternative was economic self-immolation? Bold strategy, Cotton.
12. Social media systematically censored true or plausible COVID info under government pressure: Twitter Files revealed suppression of lab-leak talk, natural immunity, and valid expert views. Platforms and officials framing dissent as “dangerous misinfo” while coordinating a blackout—nothing says free speech like an FBI-controlled mute button — right, Elvis Chan?
11. NIH-funded research at Wuhan involved experiments that enhanced pathogenicity: Fauci denied GOF funding; NIH later acknowledged chimeric viruses that made mice sicker, with reporting failures. “We didn’t fund gain-of-function” aged about as well as milk left in a Wuhan lab freezer.
10. Elevated myocarditis/pericarditis risk from mRNA vaccines, especially in young males: Initially downplayed; CDC, FDA, and studies later confirmed higher rates and updated labeling. “Safe and effective” with a side of heart inflammation for the young and healthy!
9. Prolonged school closures caused major, lasting learning losses: Defended as necessary; PISA, NAEP, and studies documented months-to-years of lost learning, worst for the disadvantaged. Sacrificing kids’ futures on the altar of “safety” while the data screamed otherwise—child-centered science at its finest.
8. Cloth and community mask mandates had little to no clear population-level effect: Heavily promoted; Cochrane reviews of randomized trials found little or no difference in community settings. Universal masking worked as well as a napkin in a hurricane—and questioning it got you treated like a bioterrorist.
7. Broad lockdowns had little to no effect on COVID mortality while imposing high costs: Questioning them labeled harmful; meta-analyses found minimal mortality impact alongside massive economic, educational, and mental-health damage. “Two weeks to flatten the curve” became two years of flattening society.
6. COVID vaccines can temporarily alter menstrual cycles: Reports of longer cycles, heavier flow, or irregular periods after mRNA shots were often dismissed as coincidence, stress, or misinformation. Multiple large studies (including NIH-funded ones) and meta-analyses later confirmed small, temporary changes—typically ~0.5–1 day longer cycles on average, resolving within 1–2 cycles—with some regulators (e.g., EMA) eventually adding heavy menstrual bleeding as a possible side effect for the mRNA vaccines. Experts treating women’s period reports like tinfoil-hat material until the data forced their hand? Classic. Nothing says “trust the science” like gaslighting half the population about their own bodies.
5. COVID vaccines do not fully prevent infection/transmission as initially claimed: “Stop the spread” messaging ruled; Pfizer later confirmed trials weren’t designed to stop transmission, and real-world data showed limited/waning effect. “Protect others” turned into “protect the narrative”—and the narrative needed a booster every three months.
4. COVID-19 lab-leak origin hypothesis: Labeled a “destructive conspiracy” and racist; FBI, DOE, CIA and congressional reports later treated it as plausible or most likely. As Jon Stewart observed, “the disease is the same name as the lab. That's just a little too weird, don't you think?”
3. Cloth masks, lockdowns, school closures, and transmission overclaims combined into policy disasters: Multiple layers of overconfident mandates produced outsized harms for minimal (or no) mortality benefit. The full suite of “follow the science” interventions—like the NIH version of the Titanic’s iceberg strategy.
2. Platform and institutional suppression of the Hunter Biden story: Labeled disinfo to limit reach pre-election; authenticity later confirmed by forensics, media, and federal trials. Fifty-one intelligence officials, media, and tech all singing the “Russian disinfo” chorus right before voters headed to the polls—sheer coincidence, I’m sure.
1. Hunter Biden laptop was authentic (and not Russian disinfo): every mainstream media outlet, 51 former intel officials, and platforms suppressed the New York Post story as “classic earmarks of Russian disinformation”; FBI had already authenticated it, and it was later confirmed and used in federal trials. The single most elegant election psyop in the modern era—experts and officials gaslighting an entire country about a laptop that was sitting in FBI evidence lockers the whole time. Curtain call, darlings.
So next time an expert declares something “settled” in The New York Times, remember: these are the same people who could lose a debate to Joe Biden and still demand you obey them. Trust, but verify—with a side of popcorn and a long memory. The only thing more reliable than “the science” is the certainty that tomorrow’s experts will be explaining why yesterday’s experts were completely wrong.
